Hey, best friends! I know that as the winter months are upon us, the worst thing is feeling like your skin is getting dry.
Whether you have naturally dry skin, or you have normal to oily skin, the winter months almost always leave you feeling like your skin needs something extra.
Being someone who’s worked in the makeup industry since 2022, you wouldn’t believe how many people have asked me for my recommendation on the best products to help dry skin, which is why, today I’ll be highlighting my top four favorite items for dry skin.
Whether you’re a person who loves to wear a full face every day, or you would rather opt for a bare face, this list has something for you. Plus, they’re in chronological order so if you’re feeling like you want an entirely new routine, you’ll also have a guide as to what order to apply them. But if you only want to add a new product to your routine, you’ll have a rough idea of where to incorporate it.

Tatcha: “The Rice Wash”
Price: $40
This cleanser changed my life. When I started my skinacre journey I had no motivation to take care of my skin and I also just didn’t know where to start. This cleanser was the first item that got me excited about skincare. It’s infused with Japanese rice powder which offers a light exfoliation to the skin, while also not being harsh on it. It essentially scrubs away any flakey skin and leaves behind a beautifully soft and supple complexion underneath.

Laneige: “Cream Skin Toner”
Price: $36
This toner has been my obsession for well over two years now. Not only is it lightweight but it also hydrates. Especially in the mornings when I’m in a rush, this item delivers instant hydration to my face and makes for a great base/primer under my makeup. Not to mention that it can also double as a moisturizer, so if you’re really in a pinch, this item is a lifesaver. It’s also alcohol-free so you won't have to worry about an increase in greasiness on your skin.

Summer Fridays: “Jet Lag Deep Hydration Serum”
Price: $44
Let me take a moment to praise how well this hydration serum has worked on my skin. Before trying this, I was using a simple hyaluronic acid serum (a serum whose sole purpose is to bring hydration into the skin), but ever since I started using this serum, my overall skin hydration has gone up because it is formulated with squalene (an ingredient that helps hydration penetrate deeper into the skin). Not to mention the fact that it doesn't make my skin feel sticky afterwards which is a major plus. Overall, it helps my skin feel less tight and also maintains a hydrated feel throughout the day.

SkinFix: “Barrier+ Triple Lipid-Peptide Cream”
Price: $54
If there’s one thing that I would highly recommend from this list, it’s this cream. Not only is it refillable so you’re saving money by buying it (girl math) but it’s also an extremely rich formula. It has a B-L3 Complex that makes it so that your skin feels and looks hydrated within a couple of minutes of you applying. It especially feels good under heavy makeup because it prevents any dry spots caused by foundation or concealer. This cream will leave people asking whether or not you're wearing foundation because of how glowy your skin looks.

Innisfree: “Daily UV Defense Serum Sunscreen”
Price: $18
If you’re not using sunscreen on a daily basis, today is going to be the day that changes. Premature aging and sunspots are not something that we will be dealing with on top of having dry skin. I can not rave enough about this product. It has sunflower seed oil, so it helps to deliver hydration but it also includes green tea which soothes skin. So, especially if you’ve been in a rut with your skin lately, this item is a great one that can jumpstart a path to hydration. It doesn’t leave a white-cast either so there’s no need to be worried about looking like Casper the Friendly Ghost.
During winter, the only thing that should be cold is the air, not the people in your life and definitely not your skin.
Now that you know my top four products for dry skin, I highly recommend trying them out for yourself to see how they work on your skin! Head to your nearest Sephora or your nearest personal device (because we love online shopping) and add these items to your physical or virtual cart.
Till next time besties, stay safe, stay happy and stay hydrated!
*Please note, however, that just because a product works for me, doesn’t mean it will work for everyone and vice versa. I recommend consulting with a dermatologist before applying any new items to the skin.
